I have seen “purple Noon”. Shot by h3ndri decae. I like the all intense colour choices in the whole film. I like very much color Platte. Its very simplest way the film was shot. But what about your quotes. ‘there is a style before contents ‘ Ripley was shot very stylistic way compare than purple Noon. What’s you inspired in purple Noon visual approach
Dear master Roger I have seen ‘The seed of the sacred fig’. It’s really good film. I connected very emotionally with that film.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Thanks Rogerdeakins and David Mullen. I tried to get some list of black and white movies shot on one lens. But I couldn’t find any list. Ii have heard ‘ touch of evil’ and ‘psycho’ most part shot on one lens. Can’t find any movie except these two or three films. I didn’t see ‘The last picture show'</p>
Master Roger could you consider my question?
Thanks for your suggestion. But I asked about masters work. Particularly old movies
September 6, 2024 at 11:05 pm in reply to: (Reading) Recommendations for Camera Blocking / Scene Design #216196Master Roger I am just wondering Why he holds a shot for an extended length of time in ‘army of shadows’ Nazi marching opening scene?
Why? What difference does it make? good question. I am learning why particular context works well when they go hand held choice. We can’t choose hand held for all contexts. In my opinion iits works well for certain story’s. A rhythm and pacing little different from partial portions shot movies then fully hand held shot movies. The over all flow vary. That’s what I like to watch fully hand held shot movies. For instance ‘Happening’ movie.
Thanks David. I really need to watch fully hand held shot movies. Not partially one scene or some particular scenes.
I felt the prison canteen high lights seems little more Harsh compare than prisoner’s cell blocks.
I just asked about this close shot. Brooks feeding pigeons in park.

Dear master Roger 4:3 Ratio reduce the screen space and gives character observation compare than other usual format. What’s your opinion about 4:3 Ratio. We can’t just use 4:3 for all genre and contexts. Could you just talk about ‘The lighthouse’ aspect ratio little bit.
