I haven’t seen anything. When did you send it?

We’ve seen this before on several of our movies. For instance, one night we decided to watch Shawshank Redemption and could not watch the version on Amazon. I made many phone calls in the following weeks and happily, they remastered the title. Hopefully, that’s what is showing now on Amazon – but we’re too scared to check! 🙂  It’s really hard when you realize your work is being shown without the timing that you did. There are so many different versions of deliverables that are coming out these days and sometimes they don’t go back to the director or DP for reference. It’s heartbreaking.

Hi! We have seen ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT and in fact, we’ve talked with the director and DP of the movie for the podcast episode that will publish on February 1st.

Could you contact me on webmaster @ rogerdeakins.com? I would love it if you could help me figure out how to reconstitute the posts. Thanks so much.

Thanks David for your comments. It’s disappointing to me that people can outright say that we have lost interest and seek the vanity of a podcast. The truth is that I was using a specific software for the previous forum, it failed and I am trying to figure out the way to retrieve the information. It’s not easy. Computer programming is not my day job but I do my best.

It’s surprising that some people can make statements about our intentions or outlook without any basis. Incredible.

Now that I’ve got the technology down, yes! I’m talking with Greig Fraser now about doing one.

                  Hi Max,

Your post is now visible. Sorry for the delay. Thanks for posting!

I’m just trying something Max for images – let’s see if this works.

                    Dawn

It works! It’s the last icon on the “Visual” tab toolbar.

                      Hi Max,

Apparently, when you first post, it requires approval. And I’m not sure if this forum allows posting images when you first post a topic. Obviously, something I’m going to have to figure out how to change!! I did approve your topic and I see there were no images. Could you try posting the images in the reply and see if that works?

                      Thanks for your patience.

                      J.

Sometimes too, when you get tired (and we KNOW that happens during a shoot!), you definitely overthink things and end up adding too many lights. Sometimes, it’s good stand back and ask yourself “Did I overthink again?”

                          Hi Tyler,

One aspect of testing that is very important is that it is a “rehearsal” for the shoot. You get to meet the different departments and work together is a very non-stressful environment. And you meet the actors as well. This allows you to get past the awkwardness of not having met people before you have to work full speed with them. It really helps a lot.

                            Hi Mike,

No, the website wasn’t down. But the forum was. I believe the software had a vulnerability and notice that their website was down. So I just started from scratch. So the website didn’t crash.

Florida is really getting hit. I’m hoping that everyone is alright.

That’s funny – and typical! Simplicity is often the best – although it’s easy to get tangled up in complexity on the day!
