Hi everyone,
I’m currently shooting with a Sony camera in S-Log3, and I’ve come across some advice that I’d like to get your thoughts on:
Many people suggest turning down sharpness to -7 in-camera and then adding it back during post-production, as they argue that a computer can handle sharpening more effectively than the camera.
It’s also been suggested to reduce midtone detail in the editing software if you’re aiming for a softer, more diffused look (similar to what a Pro-Mist filter might achieve).
I’d love to hear your opinions on these two practices. Are they worth implementing, or do they come with any downsides I should be aware of?Thanks in advance for your insights!
