Hello Roger Deakins,

My name is Esteban Sandoz and I am a cinema student at IAD (Belgium) in camera and lightning department.

For my 3rd year of bachelor’s degree I am doing a thesis on lights at dusk and what they imply when it comes to filming them during a shoot.

I am therefore writing to you to know your point of view as a cinematographer, in particular by making a link with this magnificent scene in No Country for Old Men, during dawn. I read your explanations about the 7x18Kw but I was wondering how did you go about shooting all these shots in real dawn?
