We will be in Toronto in June. We’ll be doing a Q&A after a screening of Shawshank, introducing another film chosen by Roger and doing a book signing of BYWAYS.

Has anyone been getting the “Too many re-directs” error? I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. If anyone is a wizard at bbpress, and wants to lend a hand, please contact me at webmaster @ rogerdeakins.com.

        Thanks!

Our DIT monitor is always a P3 monitor. Before we shoot, I have not only this monitor (and the back up) calibrated, but I also get the other monitors on set, which are normally Rec709, calibrated as close as possible. AND, I have the editorial monitors calibrated as well. If things start to drift during the production, I arrange for another round of calibration. It’s very important to us that everyone is seeing what we’re shooting since we are shooting it as we want to see it in the end. We don’t plan to “fix” things in the DI.

                    Hi!

We may be coming to Spain in the autumn!

We’ve seen this before on several of our movies. For instance, one night we decided to watch Shawshank Redemption and could not watch the version on Amazon. I made many phone calls in the following weeks and happily, they remastered the title. Hopefully, that’s what is showing now on Amazon – but we’re too scared to check! 🙂  It’s really hard when you realize your work is being shown without the timing that you did. There are so many different versions of deliverables that are coming out these days and sometimes they don’t go back to the director or DP for reference. It’s heartbreaking.

Hi! We have seen ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT and in fact, we’ve talked with the director and DP of the movie for the podcast episode that will publish on February 1st.

Thanks David for your comments. It’s disappointing to me that people can outright say that we have lost interest and seek the vanity of a podcast. The truth is that I was using a specific software for the previous forum, it failed and I am trying to figure out the way to retrieve the information. It’s not easy. Computer programming is not my day job but I do my best.

It’s surprising that some people can make statements about our intentions or outlook without any basis. Incredible.

Now that I’ve got the technology down, yes! I’m talking with Greig Fraser now about doing one.
