I run into these problems very often. So i have to choose minimal lighting fixtures because we have to move very fast or time the slot of shooting exactly when the sun lights up a certain window like in this shot https://thebommel.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Styled-shoot-1.mp4 but often i run into problems like mixed color temperatures or locations i have to use that have simply bad lighting. For a example a certain machine in a building but everything around the machine look horrible. With enough time i can fix it. But i do not get the chance, sometimes, but expectations are still big.

The problem i have often with industry clients is: 30m long machine in a big hall and maybe 30 minutes to 1 hour to make cool shots while they have a short break but the light in there is horrible, add verything up, from mixed temperatures, tints, flickering etc.

If you have to choose the fastest way to get usable stuff what would you do?

Turn all lights off to have only the sunlight and then bounce a very Strong light ? Or ignore Tints, fix it in color grading an got more for luminance? Or black wrapping the worst sources of light ?

What would you do when time is extremely limited and you have to move the lights yourself?
