      Hi Roger,

Excited to see the remaster of No Country announced on criterion. Looking forward to watching it!

I was curious what thoughts you have on the HDR grading/transfer process? Specifically in regards to remastering an older film where it wasn’t a consideration during the original production.

Do you have a preferred version SDR or HDR if you were going to watch at home?

I’m not Roger, but I just can’t hold back on this topic; in my opinion HDR does more harm than good aesthetically, especially on films. There certainly are people that enjoy it but I think the demand for HDR was created by the industry first, not the audience, just like with 4K or 3D TV’s.

I think the new HDR is quite good. It is a challenge to control the extremes of HDR but it looks good when you do.
