Fresnel vs Open Face Light

Hi everyone,
When both a Fresnel and an open-face light are diffused, are there still differences in beam quality, homogeneity, and control, or are the practical differences mostly limited to output?

The differences become pretty minor other than output and spread once you put them through a diffusion frame.
