I thought this was a very interesting epsisode! I’m a Visual Effects Artist and didn’t know Tye was the a founder of Wonder Dynamics. I remeber when their Wonder Studio was announced the reaction from people in the VFX comunity was quite blasé, which I suppose is to be expected becuase the results that the tool creates are naturally not film/broadcast quality. But I definely think that it will find it’s place somewhere in the world of new media, student films and youtube etc.

But also an underdiscussed aspect of VFX is pre-and post-viz, which is a whole world of creating VFX that will never be seen by the audience, and is only used to guide the final VFX and for the studio people to get a sense of how the final film will look – it might find use there, because even creating digital characters and creatures for post-viz is very time consuming.
