Ah the boot issue. One year, around the Oscars time, there was a panel of the 5 cinematographers to discuss their films and it ended up becoming a discussion of Roger’s boots (Georgia boots [farm boots], I believe) that evolved into a free flowing discussion of the importance of the right footwear when shooting. It was funny. And probably not what the moderators were looking for!
You are correct Luca. Team Deakins is on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Instagram is @team.deakins Note the “.” And yes, there are a lot of fake accounts out there. They have started ripping off our videos as well.

You can order a signed copy through the ASC and they will ship to Germany.
We were planning to be at the BSC Expo but it doesn’t look like it will happen. But the books will be at the BSC booth and there will be some sort of special addition to the book. They are working on that now.
You can also buy a signed book from the ASC and they will ship it anywhere.
Right now, we are not in the UK and I’m not sure when we’ll be back. So the only signed copies are in the States at the moment. I’m meeting with the English publisher next week and I should know more after that meeting.

REFLECTIONS can also be pre-ordered on Amazon in the UK as well as Amazon in Italy.
The book will be released in the UK on February 12th. So that will mean they are shipping from that side of the world from that date on. I have asked them for a pre-order link but not received it yet.
The supply of signed books for the ASC is NOT limited. We are visiting there often to sign yet more books.
We hope that some signing events are organized locally since we do enjoy meeting the people. But I haven’t been contacted by anyone who wants to organize that.
The ASC is not charging more for the signed copies.
