Totnes Cinema (Romany) (2 replies and 12 comments)
Dear Roger, as you might be able to see I’m a local born Torquay man and ex TBGS. I still live in Torquay and do voluntary work at the recently reopened Totnes Cinema. From 7th to 10th Feb we are screening 1917. If you are home at this time we would be delighted to invite you to one of the screenings and wondered if you’d be so kind as to do a small Q&A session.
It would be a real pleasure to meet you.
Please feel free to contact me directly via my email if this is convenient and of interest to you.
Just to let you know that Roger is in LA during that period.
You are only open Friday and Saturday and I wondered why you close Mon-Thurs. Just a query.
Forgot to say that I put money in your cinema a few years ago (Jane knows me)
The cinema is open all week. If you go to the website you can see what's playing https://totnescinema.co.uk/web/index.php»
Thanks for the update re Roger 😉
Thankyou for the link. New cinema opens shortly in TQ.
If you're talking about the Merlin in the old BHS store, i spoke to them and they said it wouldn't be before the end of this summer now
Yes, that’s the one. Thankyou for the update.
The comment about the possibility of Sam going seems to have disappeared. However, would it be possible to arrange an evening with Roger at the cinema when he is back home and we could look at doing a special screening event of 1917 together with him?
Roger actually lives permanently in LA.
A special screening sounds like fun, I know your clientele love to party! The “Barn” cinema is also showing 1917. This film does need a large screen imo to fully appreciate it.
Btw, Perhaps you could let the forum members know how locals are reacting to the film.
I was wrongly under the impression that Roger still lived in Torquay. Can't imagine he comes here much if he's permanently there.
The reception of the film has been very good.
The Totnes Cinema seems to be gathering a lot more interest due to its varied performances. The Barn I believe has been struggling of late and it's well known that The Dartington Est is in serious crisis.
I wish I could be there but I will be in LA.
Sorry Roger, I was under the impression that you still lived in Torquay. A long way from L.A to come. If you do ever venture this way again it would be good to know. Perhaps we could organise something then. Many thanks for your response though. Best wishes
