Spam Report (16 replies and 102 comments)
Please report any spotted spammers here. Thanks!
I believe the user phamyen is a spam.
Could you tell me where they posted?
Phamyen is on the list waiting for the guillotine!
He is the link, for some reason I couldnt find what the spam said but it shows a reply from phamyen in the notification bar.
Different spelling to the one I have on death row!
Thank you all! I've cleaned them up.
I assume it's easier to zap the poster than to go after each and every post they make, so here's another -
I don't have the ability yet to sort the posts by users (Robert is working on that now) so if you tell me what topic they posted to, I can delete their post and then block the user.
Thank you so much for keying an eye out!!
what did alangar do or post the other one I saw what here posted.
Mr. Robert Dempsey both of them posted irrelevent topic. Don't you recognize alangar thread already. I just checked out both members are not good for this forum. They are used this site for phishing.
There have been a lot but we still need to look at the post Sir. These are members that have just joined the site in most cases and do not have a spam record they the reporting agencies for which the first report is now coming from here as well.
You can use the little wrench that is by each post to report a post as well.
Robert Dempsey i got more than 30 reply mail from all spam users. But I deleted that. It's all about old posts. They are coming more. Did you guys not notice that was a spam post? It was very cleverly formatted but spam nonetheless.
I go not get the alerts on all topics, if I dif I would see them as well.WE need your help in this there is a little wrench by each and every post that wrench allows you to report the post to us and tell us its there.. It will be greatly appreciated if you would use is as you get the alerts on all those older posts.
Oh and Vanniyan, when I post is made the email alerts are sent out so even if We were to see it fast you would still get the alert email on it. I have no way to stop them as you are subscribed to them.
I got the spam reply from john jones something. But I have checked this topic and it's gone. I am sure old spam posts are there. https://www.rogerdeakins.com/lighting-2/true-grit-train-window/
There are still plenty of spammers in archives but most are inactive. They will pop up from time to time especially when digging up old files, some are years old!
Ok FYI James was digging the old archives last night and got rid of quite a few spammy posts so they could very well be gone today. AS you run across them report them but they are old and that old spammer may not even be around any longer, yet we still will remove the posts as we find or members report them.
We really appreciate your help in this as well
Up early again Robert, you really must get some quality sleep.
I do actually, had a sleep test ram last year and they said I did excellent during the test and I slept less there than I do at home. GO figure?
Already taken care of . Must have seem it just about the ssame time as you LOL Thank you for the report. Start post in a new post now as this thread is getting toooooo long.
Check this post has a link to legal stuff https://www.rogerdeakins.com/lighting-2/sicario-bedroom-window-lighting/

Great job all of you involved in keeping the spammers out. Well done. The site is so lovely now. Thank you.
You're very welcome.
Nice to hear positive feedback.
The last two on page 1 and the last post on page 2 here -
Pretty good job robert Dempsey
They had 2 links for Office 365 in there LOL
The absurd part of this is that Google, Bing, etc., do not rank or rate links made on forums - they could fill the place up with spam and it would not help their SEO rankings one little bit!
So very true but do tey rank comments?
That is do they rank comments on posts?
I have it on good authority from someone who does SEO for a living that links on forums do not help rankings. I can only say from personal experience that I used to post like billyo on various audio and A-for-V forums with a link in my signature and then the effect that had on our rankings just dropped like a stone a while back.
Every post by eleabeth-whateverhernameis here and elsewhere -
I have just seen them. 9 entries, what a nerve!
I want to kill those poison rats!
Go ahead, enjoy yourself!
I got 27 alerts from elizabethjneal2.
"I want to kill those poison rats!"
I am hoping that Robert will put out some rat poison!
It's out there they just keep finding a hole in it for me to patch. Least it's a lot less than it was now
Do you know the location of Elizabethjneal, can you tell which country?
She is from Islamabad, Pakistan but new to the spamming world as in 4 spammers list, she is not listed yet.
WE have had 43 new users register in the last 3 days. It is like this all the time and I would venture that 75% or more are spammers.
The last six here -
Robert - would it be possible to make Roger's site so that it is not possible to post a link to another site? That way it would take away their means. Don't know if that's possible though.
There is a way to may posts for a for links to not be allowed as in most cases they are very useful. The only way would be to moderate each and every post and here again, there are a lot of those as well.
I will talk to James about this as well.
What if you could copy and paste a link, but it would not be 'active'. Thereby members could copy and paste the link, but would see the phishing link for what it was?
It's every forum members duty mike!
