Hi Roger, A while back, I read somewhere that you run at least 5 miles every day. That fact stuck with me for a long time because it felt unattainable to me. I personally just crossed the 5 mile mark in my runs, and I was curious what your exercise routine is. Do you eat before and after? And do you always run in the morning? Mostly I just can't believe you find time to exercise this much with I presume 12 hour work days, too...

Where did you read this?

I think theres a Vanity Fair article where Roger says that he likes to run by water.

I read that he likes to fish a lot but never anything about running. I could be wrong though.

He does run to keep fit and he is fortunate to live by the waters edge when in the U.K. He likes to run on the coast path which is by the waters edge, I have walked it many times as I live close by but I get exhausted as it is hilly so how he does it running I do not know. He must be extremely fit.

Are you and Roger close friends?

No, we have never met although I pass his house two or three times a week when walking. It is a very secluded area and virtually no cars. It is stunningly beautiful and was once known to have more ‘millionaires’ per square mile than anywhere in Europe. Sorry, cannot reveal the actually location, must protect Rogers privacy.

I’ve heard stories that Roger can walk on water. And he even levitated in his sleep on the set of Fargo. Or so the legend goes...

Roger an alien?

I run most mornings when that I am at home but I do not run very often during a shooting schedule. I think I get enough exercise just doing the work. As I get older I run shorter distances but I will still often run/walk between 5 and 8 miles. BTW, we I don't own a house. I have owned a small apartment, close to where I grew up in Devon, for about 30 years .

Five and eight miles per day or week?

I mentioned house because it reads better but apartment or flats is more realistic.
Great views to the Castle though. General De Gaulle lived there before moving up the road. (French resistance HQ)

Good on you for sticking to running, im doing cross country at my highschool right now and i have trouble motivating myself to run outside of school.

Do you have any tips for pushing oneself to keep running?

Tips for running or keeping fit in general? I think the reasons to do that will become obvious as you get older!

Then it’s too late! Running ofcourse, keeps the calories down which is essential to a long and happy life but my GP does not recommend it as it can wear out your joints faster. It is good for stress though and stress as we all know is big killer.
A good run or fast walk will empty your head faster than a box of pills. Now where is my electric bike!

Haha, yes keeping fit is very important. I always find it intriguing that homo sapiens are the best endurance running species on the planet, because I could never get myself to run more than a couple miles! I still exercise regularly with weights as well as biking though.

Roger, these are great tips on health and I appreciate your simple style to match. I love the white watch you wear all of the time in on-set photos. What exact brand and model is it? There seems to be a darker model and a gold model. You are my artistic hero, and as a watch enthusiast, I think we'd like to know. Thank you so much!
