Managing a directors expectations of the cinematographer and maintaining a positive working relationship. (No replies)
I would like to hear Roger and James talk about managing a directors expectations, as they have said for instance, locations that are 5 stories up in NY and challenging, what if the director sinks in their heals and insists, what if a location is very challenging or dangerous. Also this leads to maintaining a positive working relationship with a director, when it's often the cinematographers job to see the potential issues and practicality of a location that a director may not want to compromise on. And this is just during the scouting process. What of managing creative differences and expectations?
