Thank you Roger. Yes I have seen the diagrams on this scene and grateful for them. When you say that you had control over the way it was set up in relationship to the windows, do you mean the relationship between the bounce size and the distance and relative size of the subject being lit?
I guess I am still trying to wrap my head around having precise exposures with large bounces in far distances like that. I have heard some DP just allow for a 3 stops loss when bouncing and of course using scrims to be able to refine exposure like you do sometimes. But then with these type of distances involved, as your actor might have been something like 50-60 ft from the bounce source, it seems it can only a process of trials and errors or relying on experience. I'd be grateful for any light you could shed on that subject.
