pre-production with natural lightning (2 replies and 2 comments)
I am a student in cinematography, this year I want to try natural light don't know how to work with the production, the 1AD and the director to be efficient.
Do you have advice ?
Thank You ! 🙂
When you want to shoot with natural or available light everyone needs to sign off on it and recognize the implications to the schedule. I have often been required to shoot interior scenes on location when there has been no 'sign off' on the hours we would shoot. Schedules often can't accommodate the shortened day that would allow for it so, consequently, it is necessary to light these scenes artificially.
Thank you Sir very much for the advice.
I will work on how light the picture with and without artificial light.
It might be wise to have lights standing by as the day might bring unexpected challenges. A director needing just that one more take, for instance!
I understand, thank you 🙂
