Hey Roger

Do you set LUT that you use in the final film in your camera? To see the results during the filming. I heard about this technique from a DOP on Gooke optics TV.

Yes, this is talked about at length elsewhere on the forum. I do use a LUT on the image that I see on my DIT's calibrated monitor and will also transfer over to my DI timing.

I love the LUT you've had built for the Alexa, Roger. When creating it, were you looking to emulate a particular film stock? I'm just curious how the conversation begins when creating a LUT with someone in that department.

I was shown a number of variations in contrast and saturation. That was about it. It's digital so I was not trying to emulate a film stock, which seems pretty bogus to me. I want to see an image that emulates my eyes.
