Hey everyone,

I would love to hear from multiple people on this: from those of you who are cinematographers, did it take many years and multiple projects to feel like you had become good at lighting the way you wanted to, or were you great at lighting from the beginning? And was most of the learning you did through experience or from schooling, watching other people work, etc?

Thanks!

Thank you for responding. I guess I have to keep working. Sometimes it is easy to get stressed out and worry about the things I still have to learn rather than focusing on what I have improved.

I think we are always learning. I'm not sure I find cinematography so interesting if I didn't learn something new every day I am on a set. That is also why I find it quite frustrating when I am not working as there is so much to learn.
