Hi Roger, 

Recently had a workshop in university where we had to try and reconstruct the lighting from this shot in a studio. It looks like a lot of the light is coming from the practicals with maybe light being bounced from the left? Interested to hear how this look was achieved.

Looks like there is a bounced source coming from ‘his right’ in addition to the side lamps. Interesting shot.

Yes, that was largely the practicals with a soft bounce source from the left. I did have an overhead ring light that I used for the dinner scene in this set but I doubt I used for this shot. There was little else involved in this scene so I could light the shot and shoot it in a very simple formal way.
