Congratulations on the well-deserved Oscar. You won't remember me, but I was one of the Pixar camera people you consulted with on WALL-E. I now use the video of that great lesson you taught us at ILM as part of my Visual Storytelling class at the California College of the Arts.
Blade Runner 2049 was a terrific achievement. I love the idea of getting the "anti-lighting guy" to do a movie that is so "lit".

Soon after that day we screened "No Country for Old Men". I flashed back to it when I saw the shot of Javier Bardem sitting in that chair, his face lit by the sunlight raking across the backs of his hands. Brilliant.
