Hi all,

I recently rewatched The Batman and noticed these strange flares the cars produced at night. Does anyone know how this effect was achieved? Was it done with a filter on the camera was it the imperfection of the lenses they used? I've attached pictures below 🙂

Looks like rain spray on the front of the lens.

Yes, looks like a heavy rain scene, the first photo shows a lot of water at the bottom of the frame resembling a flood. Have not seen the film but was this a hand held camera shot judging by the irratic flaring on the cars front.

No it was a static shot. I've attached the link to the clip, it right at the beginning.

Of course there was also the flaring of the anamorphic lenses used.
