Hi Roger

A few years back I got to shoot my first feature and just wanted to share the trailer for it. Our references with the director was JJ and True Grit and the great Sergio Leone films. I tried to get my own flavor on it but being a super low budget film was difficult to do any kind of finesse. But I do want to thank you for the inspiration and the images you create are something to aspire to.

I was wondering was it difficult to get your next gig once you've shot your first film? I am finding it extremely difficult at the moment.

A few years back? Really? That looks like a great piece of work. I went about 6 years between my first feature and my second but my first was pretty bad ... unlike yours!

Personally, I would die to shoot a film of 'Gould's Book of Fish'. But I would also die to shoot a film of 'Wanting' or 'The Sound of One Hand Clapping' or 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North'. Brilliant!

Thank you for saying so, I gotta give credit to the director who knew exactly what he wanted in each shot which made a hell of a difference when we were averaging 40 setups a day, felt like my previous days of one shot wonder doco shoots.

Certainly something to think about 6 year gap, at least that I shouldn't be in a hurry 🙂

Ah a fan of Richard Flanagan! .Gould's would be awesome film to shoot, to translate such a vivid conceptual story would be a great challenge that I am sure you would just eat up!! Is that even optioned to film adaption?

The greatest writer alive today! RF directed a film of another of his own stories.

He certainly is one talented fellow. I saw One Hand back in the day, I never read the book since I saw the film first and thought it was quite interesting way of telling a story and very compelling drama. I could relate a little as I was an immigrant who'd escaped from communist Hungary and how it can affect our extended family left behind and our own. Also its a great looking film.

You should read the book and I will try and see the film!

Sounds like a deal. Its quiet hard to actually get the movie now but I did find it on youtube sadly, although they uploaded it because they said its very hard to find which is true as no streaming services have it or dvd/bluray retailers.
