Hi Roger, I recently attended your talk at the BFI with my far more learned (& aspiring DOP) partner which made for a great evening. You mentioned wanting to film more sci-fi, you have a love of books, and you have previously been involved in some incredible film adaptations of books. My question is whether there is a particular sci-fi book/series which you would like to see on film (and possibly work on)?

I would love to see The Forever War by Joe Haldeman on film and I feel you would enjoy it also as it has some parallels with The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. If features a group of people who find themselves repeatedly falling further and further out of step/time with society.

Some of J G Ballard's stories would be interesting. I don't see a studio backing 'The Drought' though.
