Coen Brothers Storyboarding Process (2 replies)
I'm a huge advocate of storyboarding and maybe you don't know the answer to this question, but i'll ask it anyway. Do the Coens do multiple drafts of storyboards similar to how you would when writing something or is simply a matter of them visualizing what they always had in mind as they were writing the script? (You could discuss other directors as well, but i'm particularly interested in them!)
Also, I just realized I wrote this in the wrong thread. My bad!
When I first worked with the Coen brothers, on 'Barton Fink', we sat and did the storyboard together over a number of weeks. More usually they will do a very rough pass and then we will go through those boards together before they are finalized. Either way, there is only ever one full draft. I do imagine they see images are in their heads as they write.
