Hi Roger, thanks for taking the time to read this. I read you have a background in doco work and was wondering if you have come across any DP's or Directors whose doco work really stands out from the usual cinema verite style and pushes towards a more cinematic approach? (I loved Cartel Land by Matthew Heineman) Thanks in advance.

Yes, 'Cartel Land' was certainly cinematic. I found 'Wild Wild Country' quite gripping, although it could have well been shorter!

Haven't seen 'Cartel Land' but saw the TV series 'The Trade' directed by Heineman as well. That was as close as a cinematic documentary series I have ever seen...
