A timely revisit to Jarhead (2005) (No replies)
I posted this in the podcast ideas section as well. But I figure it should probably be here as well.
Jarhead (2005) highlighted the consequences and ultimate futility of the Gulf War. As the US is currently pulling troops and citizens out of Afghanistan after a long and brutal conflict with seemingly no clear victor, It seems to be the perfect time to take a look back at Jarhead and discuss the way its messages were conveyed to audiences. How can we apply its lessons to today?
As Lt. Swofford says, “every war is different. Every war is the same.”
