Hey, Roger

Recently I noticed that you chose Signature Primes and Alexa Mini LF for your new film 1917. I believe it's the first time you use large format system in feature film. Actually I have ordered exactly the same setup, so may I ask for your opinion on Signature Primes and large format?

Sorry for the wrong category. Is there ways to fix it?

No worry!

The Mini was only made available for the first time for '1917', otherwise I would have shot with the LF format before now. I think the Signature Primes are really quite brilliant lenses and I used one throughout the shoot.

so i take it you didnt use the normal body LF for the shoot ?

Love to hear what signature prime lenses you liked? Assume the 47mm because it has the same degrees of view as the 32mm. But curious how you liked the wider ones, like the 25mm?

Do you prefer the shallower depth of field of LF? Or are you stopping down more (compared to S35) to get the depth of field you used to have?

I used the Minis exclusively. I was going for a shallower depth of field that is inherent in the LF. I can talk more about the film when it is released!
