That shot was Deni's idea and something that he suggested as we were shooting a different scene outside the house. The shot builds tension with a suggestion that something is about to happen, and that something won't be good. It feel like a POV, but we don't know whose it may be.

Someone on this forum suggested that this shot was the exact moment that the children were taken and I found that very chilling.

I have re-watched prisoners today and it is as great as my previous watch, the attached frame was uncanny, this was the moment in the movie which made me feel 'something bad is going to happen next', 'something is not right'.
I would be very happy if you could share some thoughts on what made you go with that shot.
