Dear master roger what focal length did you use for both shots.  first shot you did make framing half of the road and half sky balanced and second shot you just gave important for the sky. And quarter of the frame only landscape. Is there any intention of the bother frame differently composed?

The first was probably a 27mm and the second something longer like a 35mm. The framing in the first instance was to have the road lead the composition and the second shot was about scale and the dominating sky.

Is there any esthetic reason you did compose dominating sky for that shot.

Master roger your Fargo interviews says you shot lot of that on 40mm. But you also use short focal length 27mm also?

Yes, it was not exclusively shot on a 40mm.

The dominating sky was just to make the car and the human figure feel insignificant.
