Master roger i have one personal and professional question for you. I really admire your sincere passion. How do you keep the passion from your early struggling days to until  now? Because i am watching some cinematographers passion and work talent gradually fall down when they earn enormous money, experience, and fame. I can tell dozen cinematographer whose work getting worse when the become to popular in film industry. Aging also one of the factor for these kind of fall. You also one of the leading  cinematographer in the world.  Still your passion and work very fresh and very energy. What is the secret of yours?

His secret is in his genes (not jeans). Eternal youth and not accepting old age is another.

Mike i am not only asked about his physical appearance. The major thing is amount of passion like first movie cinematographer. Here most of the cinematographers passion and cinematography work gradually decreased when they once satisfied with big money and number of films.

I was really referring to Rogers physical fitness, not many DP’s can jump out of bed and go for a 10 mile run then go to work and do a 12-18 hour day. He is exceptionally fit for his age. His fitness has a bearing on his awareness and how he sees the world at large. Many DP’s give up even after a few movies due to circumstances beyond their control, it’s all a matter of luck, if that telephone doesn’t ring then you can’t do much about it, finding new projects is a matter of pot luck, which is why you can never plan the future, that’s the nature of the business.

Yes not every cinematographers don't love the Job. your visual approach, energy, and passion seems like first movie cinematographer at the age of above 70 years. Its not a simple things. I am seeing most of the people Once they earn enormous money the passion and work automatically start fall down. Even i don't know why it happens. I assume hollywood cinema paid well for your work. But your work stand out more. You keep rocking. Thats what eager to know.

Conrad hall masters of light interview comes to my mind. He said he chose cinema for all wrong reasons.money, fame, etc. But once he started to do cinematography and he is not stopping his experiments and passion, work level. He is one of the best cinematographers in the world. Can you guess what is the reason some cinematographers work not stand out from one films to another or after photographed 10 films.
