Miss Maisel Filtration (3 replies and 1 comment)
I shoot that show. Our most common filter is the #1/4 Schneider Hollywood Black Magic though in a wider shot of a hazed set, I usually lighten up and use the #1/8 because the haze is softening the image already.
But occasionally we use other diffusion, like Black Frost or Black Diffusion/FX in different strengths.
Ooo Hollywood Black,
Don't know much about it, I'll do some reading up!! And yea, those stills are the scene in question, specifically loved midges coverage.

Hi all
Watching Season 4 Episode 4 of the Marvelous Miss Maisel. The scene where Suzie and Marge are eating takeaway in the Burlesque theater, has such a beautiful soft pearlecent look.
Was wondering if anyone who had seen it or possibly worked on it had any insight on how this was achieved, filtration, glass, processing. It's a unique and gorgeous look.
