LF Format for future films (2 replies)
1917 was your first time making a film with the LF Format.
Your choice to film it on that system was motivated by the photographs taken during that era, mostly large format photography, if I recall correctly.
You said working with that format felt natural because it's quite similar to your still photography work in terms of sensor size and focal lengths.
Would you shoot future projects with regular Alexas and only LFs if the story would benefit from it, or do consider this format the new standard moving forward with cinematography?
That is hard to say. I don't have a project at the moment so we will have to see.
Other manufacturers are working on creating LF cameras.
