new extended trailer to very indy feature shot in ireland

Postby ruby » Tue Nov 01, 2011 6:09 pm

Just thought i would share this 'extended trailer' it was shot on the gh2 - with a crew of 2 peeps - my wife and a farm boy who i taught how to do sound. my wife operated the camera - no she never did before. at the last minute we had the chance to go to ireland. I wrote a script in 3 days - im not saying its the greatest film ever made - but it came out much better then it had the right too. anyway... just sharing - not looking for extensive feedback. i cut this really to learn fcpx - the film is with a real editor - i spend so much time on this forum i thought i would just share.

I cannot watch the trailer in Germany, because of the used music. I would love to watch it, so maybe you can upload it on Vimeo, they do not have restrictions like youtube in Germany.

hi Marco
yes I heard there might be some restrictions in other countries. Hmmm - it's too long for vimeo - I will figure something out and send ya a link.

I've not posted something to Vimeo, but as I recall I had to submit a clearance for music I had with my short. Perhaps they have changed.

In any case, I would suggest getting a 'creative commons' music track, and eliminate any copyrighted material. It just makes it easier for
you to show to the world.

I'll also claim 'false advertising', because a 9 minute clip is not a 'trailer'... as it is, I don't think the music 'added', and so you could delete
it and then not have the problem at all.

In Big Time Productions, there often is a 'very early' trailer, where perhaps only a few shots are from the actual movie, but the voice over
carries the trailer to generate interest. I'd suggest such a reworking for your efforts.
