"Exhumed" trailer now online - B&W

Postby ken willinger » Sun Sep 25, 2011 5:02 am

I don't usually post my stuff here, but this one was a project we did in B&W and thought there may some interest. I looked at a lot of B&W films before starting this project and I approached lighting it in a different way than I would have had we been recording in color. It's a little indie pschycological thriller/horror but was a really fun project.
The compression to vimeo isn't great... caused banding.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy it.

The cinematography looks great.
Just curious, you list various cameras on your website - what did you use to shoot this? RED?
Is the nightmare black or are the windows painted?

Wow, a Russian site found the trailer! Anybody read Russian? I have no idea what they've said about it.

Google says:

"We present our information on the new horror film «Exhumed» (2011) directed by Richard Griffin .

The film presents us with a family history, whose members never leave your house, and whose seemingly unhurried measured life once converted into an open confrontation and fierce battle, a bloody nightmare ...

Black and white picture, stylized, the film imparts a noticeable charm. See the trailer under the cut, in the full news."

Thanks for the interesting translation! Not quite on the money, but kind of in the ballpark. Just spent the whole day today in the grading session. The film looks good! It premiers next Friday, 11/11/11, at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro, MA with 7P and 9P showings if anyone is in the area and would like to experience it. Cheers!
