Trusty old DVX

Curious if anyone else here has gone through a love affair with the DVX100b. I bought the camera 5 years ago and I'm still using it to this day. I've tried the HVX100, DSLR's and nothing satisfies me as much as the DVX (Or nothing has yet convinced me to upgrade). So, I'm waiting for the RED Scarlett before I do. The DVX shoots SD which amplifies the subtle grain it captures in a way I have never seen with other comparable cameras.

For example, I just used it to shoot an opening scene for an educational video I'm working on - and I still to this day find the images striking every time I pull this camera out.

The DVX is one of my favorite digital cameras ever made. The amount of manipulation to the image it offers you is astounding for when it came out.

Wonderful thank you for sharing that. The opening shot hit me as very exciting use of the DVX. I often know that "DVX look" that people took to when it came out, but it shows that you've shown a much wider range. Looks great.

When I was in school (Computer Science not film), I would make short films with this camera. One year a while back I took it to the test to see if I could shoot every possible lighting environment with the 100b - since it was obvious that it thrived in exteriors - I wanted to try dim interior, dull office, flashlight scenes, storms (similar to X files range)...etc It was a short that I first consulted for help on in this forum and got a great idea for a difficult door shot. I also wanted to show it in a variety of seasons so shot over summer and heart of winter to capture the range.

Anyway, for anyone interested in DVX I'd love to share this tribute to the camera, and also watch any other content people have created with this little gem. It's really fun to see how different people took advantage of it as a tool
