How much of the movie is color timed?

Hello Roger,

First I would like to thank you for operating this website. It is an invaluable and entertaining resource.

After the movie finishes shooting do you color correct every single clip? Or do wait until there is a semi-final cut and just correct that part?

A film is usually in a final cut form before I do any colour timing though for 'Skyfall' I did do some preliminary timing of a few key scenes in order to aid the effects work. The timing that is used in the edit should be close to the final 'look' of the image and it is something of a fallacy to think that the 'look' of a film is made in the DI suite. That has certainly not been my experience outside of one production, 'O Brother Where Art Thou', were the DI timing was a key element of the 'look'.
