hello roger,
i am seeing all of your movies.you are a great ispiration for me.particularly how you achieved beautiful close up for female actress. are you working in eight light system for female close up.is there filler light is very important or not?you are using compulsury filler light for close up.which kinnd of method you are using for female close up. just now i read painting with light by john alton. he wrote hollywood close up in chapter no 5 briefly about eight light system. how many leading cinematographers using eight light system method.is that only proper way or any other proper method is there.how much important filler light for close up shots.i dont know any experience about eight light system and what kind of diffusion you are using?anybody tell me about basic principles close up lighting techniques.is ther any book for lighting better than painting with light book.can i follow eight light method system. is that old lighting system.what is the new lighting system for close ups.

I can't say I am familiar with the eight light system. I use a multitude of techniques to light a face depending on the film and the scene. What you may call a fill light I use by what I call wrap. One thing is consistent for me and that is that I don't use filtration on the lens.
